Vehicles

I use vehicles a lot to get around in WoTH. I am mostly using the UTV since you can easily jump on the hood and up to the roof for a little elevation. Doing a little testing, it seems that animals do not spook unless you drive up to about 100m even in Ranger difficulty. It may be a little closer in the easier difficulties, but when you get out of the vehicle, the animals can spook based on that difficulty setting by hearing or seeing you.

How I use them is I drive to about 200m of the animals. I am usually playing in default difficulty, so I slowly walk to the front of the UTV, then climb on top. Then I will use the caller to sort out which animal I want to harvest. It makes it much easier to cover multiple herds in a zone time, but you do need to do some work and get practice to find which approaches to which zones give you the best opportunities.

Whether you use the Jeep or UTV, it seems to have about the same range limits. A tip if you are closer to animals, if you get into the vehicle from a crouch, you will exit the vehicle in a crouch. The same holds true for if you were slow walking or fast walking, so be cautious when you exit a vehicle, your stance and movement speed may easily spook the animal when the vehicle didn’t.
